A big part of our Strategy 2030 is to play a more prominent part in the local community. With this in mind we have a number of initiatives which will drive this and will be added to during the coming years.
Schools Programme
Our Schools' Programme Plan is currently being finalised with a view to begin establishing links with local schools from September 2021. We hope to provide opportunities for children to experience hockey for the first time in a fun, social & active environment. Our goals are to promote & increase the participation of hockey within the area, and to establish a pipeline of players into our club from the Schools Programme, giving them a further opportunity to play competitive sport and forge their own potential careers within hockey.
If you are a local school to us and are interested in what we can offer, then please contact...
Back 2 Hockey is back in 2021/22 Season
Back to Hockey has inspired thousands of players across the country to pick up a hockey stick since its inception. Back to Hockey participants have praised the initiative and have said they love the social element of the sessions, it’s a great way to get fitter and the perfect opportunity to meet new people.
Back to Hockey sessions are fun, social and informal and aimed at people who either have not played for a number of years or are looking to play for the first time. Do not worry if you are nervous or cannot remember any rules; our Back to Hockey coaches will gently guide you through this series of fun and friendly sessions.

Cricket Club Links
One of most recent successful strategies has been to work with local cricket clubs to mutually increase participation across both Hockey and Cricket. The crossover between the two sports is well suited with minimal clashing between the two sports' seasons and the range of transferable skills being high. It is hoped we can continue with this strategy and develop new links over the coming years.

University Links
Each season we continue to liaise with Staffordshire, Keele and Harper Adams Universities to encourage new students to join us and take advantage of our playing opportunities at Stone Hockey Club. Although these students may not be with us for very long, we value them as much as any member within our club and welcome them to make us their "hockey home" for the short time they are at University.
